In Open Heartspace

I've been involved with a group of folks making something called Short Order Poetry--poetry written on typewriters in public places--since I encountered the concept at a music festival in 2017. In 2025 this occasional activity turned into a summer of regular gigs and a formalized Short Order Poetry Collective with ten members! Since Short Order Poetry can be a bit ephemeral, the Collective decided it was time to publish a chapbook to share a summer of poems more widely. This collection, 'In Open Heartspace', will launch at Hibernate, a cool, family arts festival in downtown Port Hope, ON, on the Family Day weekend (Feb. 13-16). Collective poets will share poems from the chapbook at various venues and make copies available for purchase. This is a great partnership between Short Order Poetry Collective and Cultivate Community.
